International Marketing &

Corporate Ethics and Social Responsibility

Conducting business outside the United States involves a unique set of challenges. Diverse cultures, laws, languages, and currencies add to the complexity of putting together and managing international business ventures. This course will help you prepare for these types of activities by exploring a number of questions which focus on various aspects of international business. The primary vehicle for accomplishing this will be class discussions built around presentations by both the instructor and students as well as cases dealing with a range of issues, countries and industries.

Students enrolled in this course will also receive free college credit through Front Range Community College and write the DECA International Business Plan. The International Business Plan involves the development of a proposal to start a new business venture in an international setting. It may be a new business or a new product or service of an existing business. Any type of business may be used. Participants in the International Business Plan will:

• apply entrepreneurship knowledge and skills in an international setting

• prepare a written proposal for a new business venture

• present the proposal in a role-playing interview
