Words That Inspire
When someone asks me this question
I say green because it is simple
However
I don’t think I’ve ever had a favourite colour.
A favourite colour,
Seems as if it’s a perception
Of who you want to be,
Instead of what that little voice tells you.
I will say that
I love green! Or blue!
Because those options are a part
Of the person that I want others to think of me as.
A colour always seems
To have to relate to a
Certain thing,
A certain feeling.
Red is strawberries, and maturity
Orange is confidence, and bright personalities
Yellow is sunshine and kindness
Green is nature and the feeling of being free
Blue is serenity and the ocean
Purple is deep thoughts and creativity
Pink is playfulness and cupcakes
But,
What is black?
Is it the feeling of emptiness?
A dark void to never escape from?
Ebony
Jet
Midnight
Obsidian
Onyx
So many words,
To describe a shade looked over.
There couldn’t be happiness,
Without somberness
There couldn’t be recognition of
Light, and Brilliance,
Without Darkness and Silence.
I have never met anyone who
Truly understands the beauty of
Ink on a page
A bare night sky
The empty void of thoughts
That you call your mind.
In it’s own way,
Black is a blank canvas
Not as in the colour,
But in the mindset.
Black is often associated with
Death
Solemn
Seriousness
When it can be anything and everything
All
At
Once.
“Black is so boring though!”
Ravens.
Dark umbrellas in the rain.
The eye of someone you cherish.
So much more that I cannot even begin to explain.
Finding beauty in the little things
Can bring out the darkness
However darkness does not always mean
Scary.
“What’s your favourite colour?”
I’m in love with the colour
That is simply the background
So that the light can always shine.
In today's edition of Literary Lounge I will be comparing the books “Better Than The Movies” and “Nothing Like The Movies”.
Starting with the first book of the series, Better Than The Movies. This book is an immediate page turner. This book is from the perspective of Liz (Elizabeth, Libby, Lib, Lizzie) Bauxbaum and how she wanted to go out with her forever crush that just moved back to Nebraska, Micheal Young. She finds out that the only way to win him over is his best friend who just so happens to be Liz’s (very annoying) neighbor Wes (Wesley) Bennet. After a little talking Liz and Wes work out a deal to help Liz get close to Micheal but Liz might start to find a romantic partner in someone else. Someone who's been there forever.
The rating I give this book is a 10/10 because every part of this was interesting and I can certainly say I fell in love with these characters and had many happiness attacks while reading it.
Now for the 2nd book in the series, Nothing Like The Movies. This book is from Liz and Wes’ perspective. SPOILER ALERT It is about Wes trying to win Liz back after they break-up. But in between fake boyfriends and confusing history, the two have a hard time accepting their fate.
The rating I give this book is a 8/10. The beginning and middle are very boring but trust me, the ending makes up for it all.
