Question 1: How long have you been working at ESOMS?
Mally: "I have been working here for 21 years. I started in 2003, but I worked at EP for a year and then came back to ESOMS."

Question 2: How long have you been a teacher?
Mally: "For 22 years."

Question 3: How do you like this job?
Mally: "I like it a lot, but I enjoy being a support teacher the most."

Question 4: What inspired you to become a teacher?
Mally: "I think all the positive role models I had inspired me. Most of those role models were coaches and teachers, especially gym teachers."

Question 5: How long did you want to be a teacher before you became one?
Mally: "It kind of just fell into my hands. I had the option to be a teacher or play hockey overseas, but if I got hurt or something like that, I would be jobless. So, I took the safest option."

How long have you been working in education?
What advice do you have for students to succeed in school?
What do you wish students understood more about being a teacher?
How do you encourage students to take ownership of their learning?
What inspired you to go back to school to become a teacher?

Kyle has been working as an EA for 5 years.

Kyle's biggest advice for students is to stay consistent, be disciplined, and stay on task.

Kyle wishes students understood that being a teacher involves a lot of give and take. For example, if a student asks him for ice, he will go get it, but when he asks a student to return to class, 9 times out of 10, they either don't go or take their time.

Kyle's advice for encouraging students to take ownership of their learning is to be honest with themselves, understand what they are capable of, and, if they don't understand something, to ask for help.

Kyle wants to go back to school to become a teacher at ESOMS because he loves working with all the kids and teachers here.
