Our schools have a unique opportunity to participate in SWIFT (students with involved families & teachers), a research study through the Oregon Social Learning Center. The study involves practitioners who work with schools and families to improve a student's prosocial skills and prevent that student from entering a more restrictive environment.
Students involved are in Grades 6 - 8, and have emotional behavioral challenges and are at risk for more restrictive placements. These students don't necessarily need an IEP or a diagnosis to participate.
