Bike Safety Education: 6th Grade, two weeks on bikes in PE or Health Class. Staffed by the City of Eugene Outdoor Recreation program.
Learn-to-Ride: Kinder and sometimes 1st grade, on bikes, in PE for 2-4 weeks. Highly effective, empowering and fun! Reinforces growth mindset framework. Standalone event is also possible.
Pedestrian Safety: At superintendent request, should be happening in all elementary schools in PE. We train PE teachers and provide resources as needed.
Transit How-To and Personal Safety: program under development
Walking School Bus: We help coordinate chaperoned walking groups on a regular basis or for a one-time event.
Bike Rodeo: We provide a fun, after-school encouragement activity with bike blended smoothies, a bike skills course, and learn-to-ride instruction. You share the flyer with families.
Park & Stride: Relieve parking lot congestion/increase safety and encourage physical activity with a remote drop-off/pick-up area a few blocks away. We help with location ID and messaging to families.
Walk & Roll to School Days: We encourage all schools to hold a larger event one or more times a year, as well as to share our monthly messages encouraging active and shared transportation. We provide incentives and prizes, staffing/volunteers if possible, template communications, and can support coordination.
Free LTD Bus Pass Program: We train staff on distributing LTD passes and help with pass distribution as needed/possible.
Carpool Support: We can launch an online carpool matching program for your school or host a zoom event to match families for trip-sharing.
Request an audit or fix for a specific problem: contact the SRTS coordinator or use this form to make a request.
Tipsheets for families and children: Click here for our favorite educational resources to share with families.
Lawn Signs: Request a "20 is Plenty" lawn sign or "Every route is a school route"
