Welcome to Mrs. Gross's Table!!!

Hello everyone! Mrs. Gross's table is a special place designed to copy some of the experience from the Counseling Center's Table. We have some fun and relaxing activities for people to enjoy and it is also a place for people to share some of the positive ways students and staff are navigating through this time. We would like to invite all staff and students to share with us a video or a photograph of something you have done (an art project, a craft, a poem, a meal you cooked, a Tik Tok, really anything positive and fun). We are hoping that this can be a place where we can really be Alone Together.

If you'd like to submit something to share please email The Table and we will post it here. All submissions require your first and last name and whatever text you'd like us to add and all submissions will be reviewed by members of the Counseling Center before they are uploaded to the site.

Thank you to everyone who chooses to participate!

Hi everyone, it's Mrs. Gross! I miss you all. I'm still spending some of my day keeping an eye on kids around a table....they're just a lot younger than you all! I've been helping at childcare that's set up at Nassakeag. As you can see in the background of my picture, I've got some pretty good artists in the room. At home, we've been taking family walks, watching movies, doing a lot of baking. So far our favorite dessert has been Oreo stuffed chocolate chip bars. I hope you are all staying healthy and I'm looking forward to seeing you all soon!

Hi everyone! This is Dr. Salazar. I miss seeing everyone very much and am looking forward to when we all can be together again. One of the positive uses of this time apart from my Ward Melville family is the increased time with my own family. I've used some of my time (and some of the nice weather) to teach my daughter how to ride her bike without training wheels. She is so happy to be able to ride without them now and I am so proud of her!

Hey guys! It's Ms. Gregory. I miss all of your bright beautiful faces. We are all feeling challenged by our social distancing efforts, but keep the faith... all of us are doing our part to fight this pandemic. Remember we live in a beautiful place, enjoy the beauty around you and soon I'll see your bright, sleepy faces in front of me, live and in-person.

Hi everyone! Ms. Gott here, I miss you all deeply and I cannot wait to get back to school to see you all and hear what you have been up to! I have been using my time to fix up my new home with a few DIY projects. Here are two before and after pictures of my projects. I painted my shutters outside black and I painted, tiled, and made my own shelves for my laundry room, oh the things we get excited about when we are old. I have also binge watched the entire series of Game of Thrones and I LOVED it! I hope to see you all soon and in the meantime I would love to hear what you have been up to!

Hi Ward Melville-Dr. Herrschaft here, thats right since you've last seen me I have completed my PhD in Social Policy and changed my name! Like all of you I am missing the unity and familiar routine of WMHS. I have taken this time as an opportunity to be outdoors with my two year old son as we await the arrival of our new baby! Don’t forget to look for the silver lining in these difficult times- Please know you are missed and cared about and we are all here for you- Take care and Be well!

Hi everyone! Ms. Sullivan here. I miss seeing you all very much! I cannot wait to get back to school to see you. During this time, my family and I celebrated two quarantined birthdays! My kids and I also did our best to recognize those selfless men and women working in our healthcare field by donating to feed those amazing doctors and nurses in our area hospitals. Please know you are all missed and I can't wait to see you again! Stay Safe - Ms. Sullivan

Hi everyone, this is Ms. Salas. I miss all of you and hope that you and your families are all doing well. I miss seeing all of you everyday. Now that we are all home I have been able to spend a lot of time with my three children, something that I love. We have been spending a lot of time in the early part of the day doing our school work with me playing the role of teacher. My husband is home with us and it is wonderful that we get to have all our meals together as a family. Those of you who know me well Know how much I love to cook. I think my favorite time of day is when all the work is done and we just get to be together and play. We try to spend as much time as we can out side in the sun riding bikes and scooters, playing soccer and baseball, swinging on our swings or even reading.

We're never lost if we can find each other. We are stronger together and we will get through this together!

"I am doing an online food drive to help people in need during this rough time. Also I am hanging with my family." Student - Jake. S.

Hi it’s Olivia G,

I hope everyone is doing well. I miss seeing you guys all the time. I’ve been spending lots of time with my family and my dogs, some cooking and cleaning. Nothing exciting but I’ve been enjoying be able to stay home. Here’s a photo of all of my dogs in one shot- not their prettiest picture but you have no idea how rare it is to get them all at once. Stay well :) - Olivia G

Hi everyone! Mrs. Hernandez here. I’ve been thinking of you all so much during this time, hoping you’re doing ok and making the most of this time. I love this table idea and I hope I get to read more about what you’re doing at home! Being at home has given me the opportunity to focus on my kids - my 3 and a half year old is learning more about shapes and letters and how to bake, my second son who has been delayed in walking is now walking around everywhere, just in time for his 2nd birthday! And my 3 month old daughter is starting to really giggle. It’s crazy times at home but I’m grateful for it! Hope to see you soon.
