Pilanesberg

The Malaria-free Pilanesberg National Park is situated adjacent to Sun City just two hours away from Johannesburg. It is set in the crater of a long extinct volcano and is one of the largest parks in South Africa. Pilanesberg accomodates virtually every mammal of Southern Africa and is also home to The big 5. This well-stocked park also has an abundance of plants and birds.

There are five luxury lodges to stay at in the Pilanesberg: Bakubung Bush Lodge, Ivory tree Lodge, Sheperds Tree Lodge, Tshukudu Bush Lodge and Kwa Maritane Bush Lodge.

Visitors can explore nearly 200km. on game drives or wildlife safaris, either self-driven or guided, game walks or birding. You can also experience hot-air balloon safaris over the park. Many hides and scenic picnic sites offer visitors an out-of-car experience as well.
