The Erasmus project allowed our school to open up to a new aspect of Europe . From now a window on Europe is part of the objectives of our school.

The Europe club at Hastings school will become permanent.. The opening ceremony will be in year 2021. From now each year 20 pupils from our school will benefit one weekly hour. This weekly hour will be about European citizenship. Every year these pupils will meet other pupils from other schools in Calvados that are involved in a Europe club

This year in our Europe club the pupils work on some projects such as correspondance with some foreign countries , meeting with some European students who live in Normandy , preparation of a « Europe week « . It was very important to go on with the Europe club, indeed it was asked by some families who had heard about it the previous years

Now the school library has a Europe area where the teenagers can read, borrow some books , brochures and magazines about Europe. There are some exhibitions too

More that 50 % of the pupils who were in the Erasmus project have decided to present their experience about the Erasmus project for the final exam ( Brevet des collèges 2021 ).

It is the most significant , important experience they have everhad in their 4 years at school.

Most of the pupils who participated to the Erasmus project have decided to carry on their studies with an optional Europe class at high school in order to be involved in another Erasmus project. They have really understood the importance of « Europe « and have changed their mind about their studies. Some of them now would like to work in a european country.

Our window to Europe goes further than our school

Hastings is working on the project of a co worker book about traditional food through Europe.

The DAREIC ( Education authority about European project ) asked the teachers from our school to present the project to all the teachers of our depatment in order to promote european projects.

We are aware that the pupils and the teachers were enthusiastic about the Erasmus project, their experience it had been. It has reinforced the team work and teaching skills through this project.

Moreover teachers and pupils are involved in a new project for next year
