Students need to go to click GREEN button 'Continue with Google'
PEER PROGRAMMING
PEER PROGRAMMING
They are working at their own pace through the tasks (It's good to work in pairs to do 'Peer Programming' - e.g. one reads & directs, the other drives / types - swapping roles every 5-10 mins):
Class Expectations:
IF they muck about on games / other apps without your permission then warn them the consequence is not being allowed to use the computers.
Plenary / Rewards - Last 10mins - Discussion on what worked well / challenges.
IF the class behaviour and effort was good (teacher's discretion) then the carrot is 10minutes of free time at the end, such as on Minecraft.
In the Creating Apps for Devices unit, students explore the role of physical devices in computing. Using App Lab and BBC micro:bit, students develop programs that utilize the same hardware inputs and outputs that you see in the smart devices, looking at how a simple rough prototype can lead to a finished product. Then, students explore how physical devices can be used to react to the world around them using a “maker” mindset to create prototypes with everyday materials.
Topic Background:
Now that we have learnt to design and build rockets we need to learn to code with devices. The ultimate goal is to be able to use sensors on a device (like Mircobit) to record data, such as 'rocket acceleration' and to send that data via Bluetooth to another device attached to a computer. So to help us get there we have:
Our STEM theme is out of this world. We will learn about Rockets & Robotics. We will engage with
Design, build & launch rockets (chemical and physical propulsion)

Code is a Super Power of Science Technology Engineering & Maths.
Scientists, engineers, factories and farmers use coding. From Self-driving cars & Self-driving tractors to space rockets & Mars robots, the marvels of the modern world are built with STEM skills. If you want to be successful, it is important to develop skills. STEM skills are a super power!
So, we will learn to code with Minecraft and make the 'Agent' robot do our mahi and learn how to 'hack' the world. To support your Literacy, read the Minecraft booklets and write your ideas in the green boxes provided.

Drones
Think about the I.P.O feedback. What are the Pros/Cons of A.I. & drones for farming / mining on the West Coast?
I.P.O. Model
Draw an Input, Process, Output Model.
Add Memory & Feedback
Label the diagram with human examples, e.g. 5 senses: eyes, output: hand muscles
Label the diagram with digital examples, e.g. input devices, output actuators
Vision:
Our eyes received gigabytes of visual data which is compressed and processed by our brains.
Video streaming on the internet works because of compression, which throws away data but tries to balance quality / quantity.
Draw a black and white bitmap image in Minecraft that is square, e.g. 10 blocks by 10 blocks.
Halloween Ghosts, Witches & Guy Fawkes
We have 4 Makey Makey devices to use in groups in class.
You can play The Google Halloween Game
Make your own Scratch Halloween Games
Advanced
In this video I will be showing you how to make a Ghostbusters Game In Scratch. So I will show you how to code the GHOSTS, LIGHT , TIMER , LEVELS , THUMBNAIL AND MUSIC. Feel free to add more improvements.
So, This is a very easy and simple 1 episode tutorial !!!
