We're going to create a piece in the style of Johanna Beyer.

Preparation:

• Choose 2 instruments (real or 'found object') that you find interesting. These should be instruments that you can 'play' somewhat consistently (see next point)

• Pick a polyrhythm to perform on these instruments: 3:2, 4:3, 5:4, 5:3, etc. Work it out so that you have one hand/limb doing one rhythm on one instrument, while the other hand/limb does the other rhythm on the other instrument

Execution:

• Perform this starting slowly, then gradually speed up, and return back to your slow tempo (over 30 sec. to a minute or so)

• Record and submit your performance.

• Feel free to recreate this multiple times, changing polyrhythms and instruments as you see fit
