Basics Boot Camp

The Basics Boot Camp for the GROOVY GECKOS emphasizes and encourages basic healthy habits. The Groovy Geckos will conduct 6 boot camps during BLC46. Each boot camp will last 2 weeks and focus on a different basic healthy habit. Boot camps are optional BUT each Gecko is encouraged to participate! You can earn ONE point for each day you meet the Boot Camp goal and 3 BONUS POINTS if you meet the boot camp goal for at least 5 out of the 7 days. Example: If you complete the boot camp goal all 7 days of the week, you would get a total of 10 points, one for each day (7) and 3 bonus points!

You will need to record your Boot Camp points in your TRACKER every Wednesday.

Boot camp habits will be announced on the GROOVY GECKO chat thread.

BOOT CAMP #1: WATER (BLC Weeks 1 and 2)

Goal: Drink 64 oz water each day

BOOT CAMP #2 : WEIGH AND MEASURE (BLC Weeks 3 and 4 )

Goal: A kitchen scale, measuring cups, and a smaller plate can make a real difference in the success of your journey!

BOOT CAMP #3: CARDIO (BLC Weeks 5 and 6 )

Goal: Do some cardio you LIKE for 15 minutes (or more!) each day

Suggestions: Walking, running, dancing, jumping rope, biking, swimming

BOOT CAMP #4 : FRUITS AND VEGGIES (FREGGIES) (BLC Weeks 7 and 8)

Goal: Choose a minimum number of servings to eat each day

Suggestions: 3, 5, or 7 is a good place to start. Challenge yourself to increase it on the second week!

BOOT CAMP #5: STRENGTH TRAINING (BLC Weeks 9 and 10)

Goal: Work one muscle group each day with at least 24 reps

Suggested exercises will be posted on the thread

BOOT CAMP #6: SLEEP, STRETCHING, & YOGA (BLC Weeks 11 and 12)

Goal: Sleep 6 hours (or more) each night AND Spend at least 10 minutes each day stretching or doing a yoga pose
