Workshop FAQs

How do I sign up for a workshop?

Signing up for workshops is quick and easy! All you have to do is fill out a Google Form and wait for a confirmation email from writingcenter@triton.uog.edu. Please fill out the form on the right (below this if on mobile) to sign-up. We look forward to seeing you at future workshops!

Where will the workshops take place?

Workshops are always held in the Writing Center at Room 204 of the English & Communications Building in the University of Guam. If it is requested and by demand, workshops may also be conducted online to accommodate students who aren't able to attend in-person.

How long are workshops?

Workshops are typically one hour or 60 minutes long. However, times may vary and some workshops may be divided into two sessions should it be longer.

Who can attend the workshops?

All UOG students or staff of any section, academic discipline, major, and grade level are able to attend our workshops!

Do I have to pay to attend a workshop?

No! Workshops, like the rest of the Writing Center's services, are free for UOG students.

What materials should I have prepared?

Besides possibly an electronic device to take notes on (or pen and paper depending on your ways of note taking), you can also bring any materials related to whatever paper or assignment you are working on, such as preliminary research, a working thesis statement, and etc. This way, we can workshop your writing live!

If I am unable to attend a workshop, can I request for another one?

If you are unable to attend a workshop, you can email us at writingcenter@triton.uog.edu and ask for an accommodated one-on-one or group workshop.
