My Town Rubric

My Town. How exciting! You are going to design your own town! You can draw it on paper (I used 4 pieces of paper taped together.) Then when you are happy with the layout and you are sure you have all of the items listed below, then you can color it in. Yes, you can use markers.

Here are the items that MUST be in your town:

• 1. Name your town for example: Osbornville
• 2. You must have a minimum of 5 streets and name them (Lily Lane, Trixie Boulevard)
• 3. You must have a minimum of 5 essential businesses - clearly labeled (Hospital, pharmacy, grocery store...)
• 4. You must have 1 Church and 1 School (name them)
• 5. You must have 1 body of water (a pond, lake, creek or river - name it)
• 6. A minimum of 5 residential homes - put a star on your house
• 7. 1 place for entertainment (a movie theater, trampoline park, mini-golf, amusement park)
• 8. Provide a map key - showing what your symbols represent
• 9. A compass rose (North, south, east and west)

I will be looking for neatness, completed artwork and correct spelling. You will share your town On our Zoom meetings Room 5 will present on Wed. 5/27 and Room 6 on Thurs 5/28 you will receive a speaking grade.
