Welcome to Second Grade

Supplies needed for September (2020)

• a sturdy bookbag (no wheels)
• 1 red pen
• 1 blue pen
• 1 yellow highlighter
• 1 small children's scissors
• 1 roll of scotch tape
• 5 sharpened pencils (no mechanical pencils)
• 1 box of 24 crayons
• 2 boxes of tissues
• 1 container of Clorox wipes
• 1 bottle of hand sanitizer
• 1 package of multi-colored construction paper
• 1 12 inch wooden ruler (with both standard and metric measurements) ** the ruler cannot be the plastic flexible type nor solid metal
• 1 thin coloring book for rainy/snowy indoor lunch recess
• 1 8 pack of thin markers
• 1 8 pack of thick markers
• 1 16 pack of colored pencils (sharpened)
• 3 to 4 rolls of clear contact paper (to cover workbooks, copybooks and folders)
• 1 Jumbo book sock
• 4 cut tennis balls
• a small dish towel to use as a placemat

Summer Work:

The children are to read the following books:

• Flat Stanley (the original adventure) by Jeff Brown
• Hi! Fly Guy by Ted Arnold
• (an optional book) Sammy the Seal by Syd Hoff

Please bring the Flat Stanley and Fly Guy book to school with you in the 1st day

For Math skills continue to play First in Math and/or complete some pages in the back of your first grade math workbook. The pages say "getting ready for 2nd grade" at the bottom.
