About me

I grew up outside of Madison, WI. After graduating from Colorado College with a degree in history, I spent two years as a Peace Corps volunteer in Namibia in southwestern Africa. While there, I taught math, science, English, and geography. In addition, I coached soccer, taught computer classes, and co-wrote a language manual for Oshindonga, the language spoken in northern Namibia where I served. After returning from the Peace Corps, I was an environmental educator on the Outer Banks of North Carolina teaching students ranging from third grade to high school hands-on science and ecology. I received a masters degree in education from Stanford University in 2008. While attending Stanford, I was lucky enough to student teach at Hillsdale. I fell in love with SLCs, the dedicated staff, the collaboration, and the culture of the school. I am lucky enough to still be here at HHS!When I'm not at HHS, I spend as much time outside as I can hiking (with my camera in tow!). I also am a huge sports fan.
