20% Time Project
Project guidelines
- Will spend every Friday in world history on your 20% Time project
- May work on your own or with a group of up to four people
- Choose wisely!
- 20% Time is not about hanging out with friends - it IS about creating something freaking awesome
- Choose something you wouldn’t normally get to do in a class at school
- Must produce some sort of product or reach some sort of goal
- Must positively impact your community: school, town, etc
- Failure IS an option: failing and reflecting is the most powerful learning
- If you get lost, overwhelmed, or otherwise off course, make time to meet with me
- Like right away
- Must create a finished product (or an attempted finished product)
- Need a THING, not a bunch of ideas at the end of the semester
What is graded?
- Project proposal (done in September, link here to get the proposal)
- Weekly reflections (done every Friday at the end of class for the entire year)
- Outside interview (done in fall semester)
- Two minute (or so) reflective talk on fall semester and next steps for spring semester (done in December)
- pass / fail
- TED-style reflective presentation on the entire experience (done in May)
What is not graded?
- Your final product
- All the support, creativity, ideas, and inspiration you give your classmates
- This is expected - #BetterTogether
