TOD Oral Defense and Visual Aid
Rubric for the oral defense portion of your presentation
Visual aid information
- Possible programs to use to create your visual aid: Google presos, Prezi, or Haiku Deck
- What to include in your visual aid
- Your essential question (in words)
- Your thesis statement (in words)
- Information about your books or units that will either:
- Assist you
- Add value for your audience
- Minimize words: we shouldn't see complete sentences
- Creative Commons-friendly images with citations
- Citation format: "Image title" by image author from website
Oral presentation information
- All students will cover four units - two from English and two from history
- See the rubric (linked above for more specific information
- Timing rule of thumb: you don't have to memorize your slides. If you can give your presentation three times in a row for about the same amount of time (within ten seconds or so), you've practiced enough.
