Crystal Cove Cottages

Crystal Cove Beach Cottages

Collection

by

Christie Grimstad

Between 1935 and 1955 Crystal Cove, a small isolated strand of beach south of Newport Beach, became a seaside colony. Thanks to the efforts of the Crystal Cove Alliance in partnership with the California State Park system, the hamlet of cottages are now slowly being restored to their original character and charm for all to enjoy.

Respectful to this community preservation, Christie Grimstad has begun an ambitious project to artistically re-create and re-interpret all the houses within the enclave in three dimension. Three of the buildings are completed which include the Crystal Cove Cottage (currently housing a rotating exhibit), The Shake Shack and The Soda Shack.
