"Heartfelt gratitude to Christie Grimstad at ConcertoNet.com for a splendid critique of the new Chopin cd, "Life According to Chopin". This is the first time a reviewer addressed the 'why' in my playing, and how being deaf as a child may well have contributed to the way I hear music and re-create music. I never gave this much thought, because for me, it was 'my normal'. But perhaps, after reading Mr. Grimstad's review, it wasn't so normal, and I am only now beginning to understand why I hear music the way I do, and why and how I translate the music through my fingers through the instrument to create an aural experience. Quite honestly, recording music by Chopin carries many risks, because the music is so well known, and everyone has their own personal taste. I am thankful to Christie for these beautiful words."
