The Workshop will take place at the Hotel Villaggio Porto Giardino Capitolo-Monopoli, Bari, Italy

The main aim of this workshop is to put together researchers of different areas, in particular Mathematics and Engineering, to give the opportunity to discussing recent developments in:

• Numerical methods for ODEs;

• Non-smooth and piecewise dynamical systems;

• Dynamical systems with variable structure;

• Discontinuous ODEs;

• Sliding motion and Control;

• Genetic and Medical Applications

Both numerical and theoretical aspects of the previous topics will be welcome. Invited speakers are:

Plenary talks will be arranged in order to provide two lectures on each workshop topic. Contributed talks will be accepted. A poster session will be organized for PhD students who would like to showcase their work. To stimulate the participation of PhD students there will be a poster session. The session is restricted to students, who will be able to showcase their work. Students who have already made some progress on their thesis, can present a synopsis of their work, whereas students who are just beginning their thesis, can present an overview of what they are proposing to study. The main purpose of this format is to provide PhD students with feedback on their work, accomplished or planned, in a less formal setting than that of a plenary presentation.
