St Aidan's is located on Mearns Road in Clarkston, East Renfrewshire.

Travelling by Car:

The postcode of the church premises, for satellite navigation purposes, is G76 7ER. This section of Mearns Road is one-way, southwest-bound from Clarkston Toll and Busby Road. Northeast-bound traffic takes Benview Road from Mearns Road to Clarkston Toll, and a short section of Busby Road effectively completes a triangular one-way system. The church buildings are clearly visible on the left on entering Mearns Road.

Busby Road forms part of the A727 which runs from Paisley to East Kilbride. Motorists coming from Eaglesham or Waterfoot along the B767 (Eaglesham Road), turn left into Busby Road at Sheddens Roundabout , and left into Mearns Road (signposted for Greenbank Gardens). Motorists from Thorntonhall turn left into the A727 between East Kilbride and Busby, and from Carmunnock turn right from the B759, in Busby. At Sheddens Roundabout the A727 veers to the right, becoming Busby Road.

Motorists from Netherlee, Muirend, Cathcart, and adjoining areas approach Clarkston Toll via the B767 (Clarkston Road), turning left into Busby Road and right into Mearns Road. Motorists from Giffnock and beyond reach Clarkston Toll along the A727 (Eastwoodmains Road).

Parking:

Parking in Mearns Road is very limited during the week, but more freely available on Sundays. Parking is available within a few minutes' walk of the church in Seres Road and in the streets off Benview Road. Parking is now restricted in Aidan's Brae. There is a free carpark at Clarkston Library, off Clarkston Road, G76 8NE. There is also a "pay and display" carpark above the shops on the east (railway) side of Busby Road, G76 7BG; charges are 60p for up to two hours.

Travelling by Bus:

The 4A service from Glasgow via Cathcart, Muirend, and Netherlee stops outside the church. For timetables, see the Strathclyde Partnership for Transport website, www.spt.co.uk/bus.

Travelling by Train:

Clarkston Station on Busby Road, is on the suburban line running from Glasgow Central Station to East Kilbride. There is a twice hourly service in both directions, running from about 6.30 a.m. to 11.30 p.m., depending on the day of the week. Between East Kilbride and Clarkston there are stations at Hairmyres, Thorntonhall, and Busby. Between Glasgow Central and Clarkston, stations include Thornliebank and Giffnock.

To reach St Aidan's from Clarkston Station, use the exit next to the station buildings, up a ramp to Busby Road. Cross at the pedestrian crossing at the opposite end of the parade of shops from the station entrance. Turn right, and the left into Mearns Road. The church buildings will be visible ahead of you.

Williamwood Station is somewhat further away, but provides twice hourly services from Glasgow Central via Cathcart and Muirend, and also from Neilston via Whitecraigs.

Williamwood Station has two exits:

into Eastwoodmains Road, turn right and continue until you reach Mearns Road; turn right, and the church buildings will be visible ahead of you, on the opposite side of the road.

into Dorian Drive, turn left, and left again when you reach Seres Road; turn right into Eastwoodmains Road, and right into Mearns Road; alternatively, turn right into Seres Road, and follow until you reach its junction with Benview Road and Mearns Road; cross Benview Road and turn left into Mearns Road; the church buildings will be visible on your right.
