Facilities

The church premises on Mearns Road include a hall and smaller meeting room, together with a modern kitchen and toilets. When these are not required for church purposes, they are available for hire to outside users. Among the regular users are an Irish dancing academy, two groups of parents with their young children, exercise classes for expecting mothers, a badminton club, a bridge club, and an Alcoholics Anonymous support group.

Access

All rooms are on one level, and the main entrance is equipped with a ramp, giving wheelchairs and prams access to all parts of the building. There is a fully equipped toilet for wheelchair users, as well as baby-changing facilities.

The Hall

The Hall is regularly used for meetings and social events. Tea and coffee are served here after the Family Eucharist on Sundays, as well as on other occasions. Larger church meetings take place here, as well as occasional concerts and coffee mornings, which include stalls selling crafts, baking and other produce, and bric-a-brac. The badminton club meets regularly for games during the winter months.

When not in use for church purposes, the hall is available for hire, and is the venue for a wide range of activities by both regular and occasional users. There is a small stage, and a piano. A loop system is installed, and equipment can be made available by arrangement. Folding tables and stacking chairs are available, and the kitchen and toilets are easily accessible.

As well as the main hall, there is a smaller meeting room, known as the Choir Vestry, suitable for gatherings of up to twenty people.

The Kitchen has been recently refurbished in accordance with modern health and food safety standards. It is equipped with an electric cooker and a very efficient water boiler. All electrical equipment is inspected and certified annually. Fire extinguishers and other safety equipment are also independently inspected annually.
