Carl Kingston

Carl Kingston was born in Hull in 1955 and spent his school days in Hornsea. He started out his own mobile disco at the age of 16 and over the years has worked worldwide in Switzerland, Germany, Norway, Denmark and the USA.

His broadcasting career started in 1974 at BBC Radio Humberside and he has since worked for Radio Caroline and Viking Radio, amongst many other stations before joining Radio Aire in 1985. 

During his time at Aire, he mainly presented the Evening Show and he continued to present Evenings after the station split in 1990. Together with Mickey Laing, he was also the host of many Radio Aire Soul Connection Nights.

By the mid 90’s he was presenting the same show on Magic 828, although he was still presenting some shows on Aire as well. He continued at Magic 828 until 2009, later presenting Sunday Breakfast and covering holiday.

Carl has since moved to Switzerland where he is resident DJ at various venues, after spending 23 years at Aire and Magic.
