Andy Siddell

Andy Siddell was born in Nottingham in 1959. After working at Radio Nova in the summer of 1988, he joined Radio Aire later in the year. He started off presenting overnights and covering presenters who were off, but was soon given Weekend Afternoons. On Saturdays, he presented The Saturday Gang with Richard Swales & Louise Weekes and he also hosted The Hitline on a Sunday.

When the station split in 1990, he covered for Aire FM & Magic 828 presenters who were off, but was soon given the weekday Magic 828 Evening Show.

In 1992, he moved to Afternoons and later to Mid-Mornings. Andy was Head of Music for the station and was responsible for content on the Magic 828 website.

In 2003, Magic 828 were taking some of their programmes from Newcastle, together with other stations in the Magic Network. When Mid-Mornings also began to be networked, Andy moved back to Afternoons.

By 2006, the afternoon programme was also networked from Newcastle, so Andy moved there to present this show and was also Head of Music for the network.

As well as being heard on the radio, Andy was also a continuity announcer for Yorkshire Television and Granada. He was regularly heard introducing programmes such as Coronation Street and Emmerdale.

Andy moved to Canada in 2009 and went on to present on 95.5 Hits FM in Ontario. He is currently presenting on Solid Gold Gem AM and runs his own media company.
