Movie Website

Your movie's website is what you will use to show the movie studios all of the materials you have created for your movie pitch. This website will be the "public face" of your movie, and it should be used to display and showcase only the work you are proud of. You will post all of the work you have done onto this website, using embedding tools or as attachments to be accessed at the bottom of your website.

It is suggested, though not required, that your website be created using Google Sites.

READY...

Before you create your website, you need to create an account with Google. For instructions on how to do that, please follow this link.

Once you've signed in to your Google Account, you can start creating your site. Here's how:

  1. Click the Create site button.

  1. Enter your site name and the URL where it will be located (for example, sites.google.com/site/yoursite) as well as an optional description of the site. The name and URL you choose can't be changed after you create your site, or used again if the site is deleted.

  2. Select the appropriate checkbox if your site contains mature material.

3. Select one of these sharing options: 'Everyone in the world can view this site' or 'Only people I specify can view this site.'

  4. Pick a theme for your site.

  5. Enter the wavy characters in the word verification section, and click the Create site button.

Now that you've created your site, you can create a new page by clicking the Create page button.

Then, name the new page and select the type of page you want: webpage, dashboard, announcement, file cabinet, or list. After you've selected where you want to locate the page, click the Create Page button at the bottom of the page.

If not, then continue below to finish creating your movie's website.

SET...

After you have created your movie's website, you should fill in the basic information right away.

Your website should start with a brief description of your book, who the author is, and what the story is about. You should also say why you feel this is a story that should be adapted into a movie.

After that, you can set the stage for all the materials you will be creating. You will need designated sections for:

  • Taglines

  • Movie Poster

  • Teaser Trailer

  • Reenactment & Storyboard

  • Casting Call

  • Full Trailer

An easy way of doing this is to write all of these headers first and then insert horizontal lines to partition the sections. Or, if you choose to create new subpages on your website for these products, that is okay too.

...GO!

Once your website has been created and all the basic information has been inputted, you can save your changes and add new content to it as you create it. Your website can be made public (viewable to anyone) or private (viewable only to selected people, invited via email address) by changing settings accessed in the Site Settings area. It is a good idea to have your teacher invited to see the website right away so that your progress can be monitored and assessed.
