Filename2caption

What?

This script uses a command line tool, exiftool, to put the filename from jpg's in the "caption" field of the jpg. This is the field Picasa uses as well to store the caption...

Mind: the caption will be overwritten by the file name, so you loose the caption if there is one already!

Remark: there is now an easier-to-use version, implemented as a custom button in Picasa, to be found here: Filename2Caption

How to use it?

    1. Install exiftool, as described here: Exiftool

    2. Download the script below, and remove the ".toRemove" extension in the file name (.bat extension cannot be uploaded on this website)

    3. Put the Filename2Caption.bat file in any directory with images you want to treat, and doubleclick it.
