Camp Concept

As a fix-it-shop, our entire camp is built on the ethic of reuse and recycling; we fix broken items of all kinds for others, allowing them to be reused for years (and burns) to come. Our tools are all solar powered (including a sewing machine, drills, air compressor, soldering iron, saws-all and circular saw) to help others who want to keep from buying new products and get full use of their gear on playa while using green practices.

Our camp holds workshops on how to maintain items normally thought of as “disposable” on the playa. Our costume repair workshops focus on getting the most out of everything from platform boots to leather corsets. Our bike repair workshops train people on how to maintain their own bikes in the harsh environs of the playa. Our fire tool workshops focus on repair and upgrades of poi, staves, hoops, torches (and one year, fire bow-and-arrow). Throughout the week, our self serve station keeps all manner of playa-fied stuff in action, instead of in the trash or on the burn platforms.
