Linda L. Yao

President (Jan 2015 - June 30th, 2015)

Communication and leadership skills can be learned through doing and not watching on the sidelines. At North York Project Management Toastmasters Club, I can improve my communication, leadership and project management skills. It is through stepping out of my comfort zone, I can improve these intrinsic qualities. I believe everyone who has the desire to improve, has the capabilities and will achieve.

I am a proven outgoing, energetic and committed IT professional. I started improving my communication skills since May 2013. Hilary Francis, CC, ALB

President (Term July 1 - Dec 30, 2014)

I am honoured to be selected as President of NYPMTMC.

My personal goals for the club are to keep members engaged through reward recognition, to encourage creative thinking; and to foster an environment of respect. By the end of my term I should be adept at dealing with diverse personalities, more open to ideas and opinions and better at decision making.

My journey as a PMP and Toastmasters both began in July 2004. Just before I wrote my PMP, I was elected as the Charter Sergeant-at-Arms for Allstate Canada Group Toastmasters in Markham.

My experience with Toastmasters has transformed both my personal and professional life. Though I no longer actively manage projects as a profession, the skills that I have learned as a Toastmaster have helped me in all aspects of my life.

I have played all the club officer roles over the years and have been an Area Governor twice. However, my favourite role will always be my first -- to help stage the environment for learning.

To the many members of PM TM that are completely new to Toastmasters, I can assure you that there is a method to this madness. Just peel back the layers and you'll see what I mean.

To our newly elected Club Officers, continue to show your Heart for Service to this club and it's members.

This is Where Leaders Are Made.
