General Information

The products are available as downloads or on CD-ROM. The downloads are in .zip format. Windows normally has standard unzip capability, there is also a separate program called Winzip that you can download. Many other unzip tools can handle this very common and general format.

The content of downloads and CD's is the same, except for the fretboard videos. These are provided as an alternative for the fretboard plug-in, in case you cannot or don't want to install it.

Tube Tracks: the CD contains combi videos that are not in the download, in which video of Matt playing, and fretboard display are combined.

See the product comparison page on Matt's main web site.

If you have download problems, you can contact the download service for help. This is usually www.Tradebit.com but can also be www.Payloadz.com. If you're not sure, check your payment receipt. If the problem persists, you can ask for a refund directly, or contact Matt for an alternative way of delivery; there is usually a way of getting it to you.

Note that downloads are done constantly, without problems, so if you cannot get it to work, there is probably something on your own system blocking it. As a last resort (rarely necessary) you can cancel the order and purchase a CD in stead.

If you want to email Matt concerning a problem, be as specific as possible. The following questions may help you to describe the problem properly.

(the mail address is info@mattotten.com)

- did you receive a download link? (if yes, please note the instructions and tips in the mail you received)

- did the link take you to the download page?

- were you able to download the complete file (check size of downloaded file: does it have the size indicated on the product download page)?

- could you unzip the file? If not, can you unzip other .zip files?

- are any of the unzipped files corrupt?

For problems with the product, please state your problem clearly. Furthermore, for the Jazz Exercises:

- read the pdf guide

- please be aware, the .dll file is a plugin, it does not run by itself. You need a VST host

- please note the .dll is for Windows only (not MacOS)

- open the pdf guide, see chapter 8 for installation and use of the .dll

- there is an instruction video for Reaper

- midi/mp3 synchronisation problem: make sure you set the right tempo for each track, see the tempo indications in pdf guide (appendix: section Midi Files)

- files missing: some early versions (before V2.1) had 3 missing/incomplete files. You can get them on the update page.

- the notation was improved after version V1.1, the improved PDF's are available on the update page.
