BOLÍVAR ECHEVERRÍA PRIZE


The Bolívar Echeverría Prize is awarded occasionally by the International Herbert Marcuse Society for an outstanding work (e.g., book, article, essay)—recently published in Spanish—that advances critical theory in the struggle for liberation.

RECIPIENTS:

2021: Stefan Gandler (Professor, Universidad Autónoma de Querétaro [UAQ], Santiago de Querétaro, Querétaro, MEXICO) for his book, Marxismo crítico en México: Adolfo Sánchez Vázquez y Bolívar Echeverría. The prize was awarded at the ninth (9th) biennial conference of the Marcuse Society in 2021, at Arizona State University, Tempe, Arizona, USA.
