Help!  What do I do when I am absent?

The challenging endeavor of studying a foreign language requires daily commitment and practice.  In order to reinforce and practice fundamental language concepts, all class assignments are designed to be opportunities for vital and repetitive practice with the language. Present in class or not, students are accountable & responsible for all assignments. When absent…

1. Reference lesson plans in folder on Canvas

2. Use Canvas & textbook website to complete assignments

3. Check for zeros in Skyward

4. If confused, contact a fellow student or Sr. S (REMIND or email)

5. Turn in makeup work!

How much time do I have for makeup work?

- Students have two (2) days per absence—six (6) days total—to make up work assigned while absent. All assignments made prior to absence due day student returns to class.

- If known prior to absence & no new material presented prior to absence, a makeup test is taken on day student returns to class. If new material presented during absence, students have two (2) days per absence—up to six (6) days total—to makeup test. No makeups offered for quizzes.

- Before going on fieldtrip or school absence, students must acquire assignments. All work due at assigned time. Any tests missed to be made day student returns to class.

Academic Honesty:

1. It is never acceptable to use electronic means or have a Native Speaker translate whole phrases, entire sentences, or complete paragraphs.

2. It is never acceptable to use electronic means (Auto-Correction, Spelling Check, Predictive, etc.) during an assessment.

3. It is never acceptable to copy another student’s work and submit for credit.

*PLEASE say / write what you can with what you know IN SPANISH. Students who practice saying / writing what they know, with time & practice are naturally and progressively able to say / write more and more accurately.
