The Connecticut Falcons played all four years the league was in existence and were crowned World Series Champions each year.

The following are excerpts from the 1976 San Jose Sunbirds (Reprint 1) and 1976 Santa Ana Lionettes (Reprint 2) programs.

Reprint 1 – National champions since 1970, the Raybestos Brakettes entered the new professional league almost intact. Now called the Connecticut Falcons, the reigning world champions have the great Joan Joyce, and that in itself might be enough.

But the Falcons have much more. Irene Shea at third base is proven All-American, and slugging Willie Roze was tearing the cover off the ball in early games. Other outstanding Falcon players include Joyce Compton, Sharron Backus, and Snooki Mulder.

Although Joyce, one of the founders of the fledgling league, spent more time promoting women’s softball than practicing her bullet delivery this spring, the player who’s been called “the Babe Ruth of women’s softball” was unbeaten in four starts at press-time.

Barring injury to a key player, particularly Joyce, the Falcons rate the favorite’s role in the Eastern Division.

Reprint 2 – Joan Joyce, the biggest name in women's softball, is one of the founders of the pro league. She is also the top pitcher in softball having compiled an enviable record while playing for Stratford and Orange. Not only is she a great pitcher but also one of the most respected hitters in the game. Joining Joyce are many of her teammates from the Brakettes including Joyce Compton, Irene Shea, Willie Roze and Sharron Backus. Snooki Mulder, All Star outfielder from Orlando was acquired in a trade with the Southern California Gems. With the talent this team has they must be considered one of the strongest contingents in women's pro softball.
