Green policy

Les Happy Frogs have a green policy.

If you commit to walk to pick up and drop off your child to my place I give you 5% green discount (10% if you don't owe a car).

If you drive we ask you not to idle your car at pick-up or drop off (because it's illegal and one idling car emits 20 times more pollution than a car travelling at 32 mph. And it spews ozone, sulphur, dioxides, carbon monoxide, particulate matter and more, bad for our health)

We walk to and from school. Sometime we cycle to school.

We use local products whenever possible and organic products as often as possible. We try to buy in local shops.

We use some fairtrade products like bananas and coffee.

We try not to waist food or paper.

We use rechargeable batteries and battery charger and our own electricity is produced with 3Kwh Solar Panel.

We use low-energy light bulbs and switch off light when not necessary.

I am happy to use cloth nappies when supplied by the parent.

We use ECOVER cleaning products.

We encourage wildlife in the garden

We recycle as much as possible, all paper, Glass, tins and cans are recycled. Sometime we pick up litter on the Stray or on our route from school to put in our recycling bin.

I refuse free plastic bags in shops unless I really need one.

I have installed Cavity wall insulation in Silverfields Road in 2000 and in Lynton Gardens in 2009.

We have monitored our energy usage thank to an Energy monitor borrowed from the library.

We have a switch on TV so that when we put the TV on stand-by, the switch turns all the appliances connected to it off including the Wii (which, without this stays on stand-by).

I don't shop in shop who leave their door open to let the heating out and the cold in unless I have no alternative.

In 2010 I had registered to 10:10 and I had pledged not to fly that year.
