There is a Presence (Vol 2 No 16)

There is a Presence so profound

Often perceived in sight and sound;

This is the Presence that we feel;

Never controlled and yet so real;

To this, The Sacred, we are bound;

Finding ourselves on holy ground.

There is a Presence we can know

Prompting us love both friend and foe;

When we confront a hostile face

We can be moved to act with grace;

To this, The Sacred, we are bound;

Finding ourselves on holy ground.

There is a Presence deep within

Giving us hope, a will to win;

When we encounter searing pain

We find more strength we can’t explain.

To this, The Sacred, we are bound;

Finding ourselves on holy ground.

Signs of this sacred Presence shine

When justice, love and hope combine;

As we forgive, act graciously,

Hold to the truth, give gen’rously

We are connected to the core

Of the Divine. We stand in awe!
