Introduction:

The best way to learn something is to teach it! And it's fun.

You will design a lesson to teach someone in your family. Your student could be a sibling or a parent, or a neighbor. Someone who knows less Spanish than you!

You will be teaching him or her one verb. You choose either:

TENER- to have,

SER-to be,

ESTAR-to be, or

IR-to go.

You will teach him or her how to use the verb with the pronouns: I-Yo, You-Tú, he-él, she-ella, you-usted & We - nosotros/as, you guys - ustedes, they-ellos, ellas. in a sentence!

Task ~ The steps involved are:

* You're going to plan a lesson for your student.

* You are going to pick at least two different ways to give your student the info and give them practice.

* You're going to think about how you like to learn and how your student might like to.

* You will give your student at least 3 lessons. They can be short. 5 - 10 minutes.

* When you are done, your student will be able to say at least three sentences with the selected verb. And, if s/he is older than you, also write them.

*You are going to report back to class or me. This is described later.

Process ~ How to do the task:

1. START by CHOOSING the verb. Practice it and check that you know it. Ask a classmate or me to confirm.

(I'll say: s o c k s! eso si que es! ~~ yeah, that's it!)

2. THINK about all the different ways you have enjoyed learning. You can think back to earlier grades or places other than school. Think of times when you had fun learning, times when you learned easily and well. What was the best way to practice?

3. WRITE DOWN the ones you might use.

Was it games? memory? vocab cards? contests,

Or group challenges? (You can include more people to your lesson

Or paper work - filling in blanks, copying, answering questions? Creative projects - like posters, songs, raps?

Computer games? Or practicing out loud?

4. CHOOSE TWO & CIRCLE THEM. Think of a fun way to use them with your student using your verb. You can always do more if you want.

5. the steps for your chosen activities.

Resources ~ stuff you can use:

From classroom: ~songs -you can make one up!, ~ paper, scissors, marcadores etc for making games, small posters, drawings, ~books or handouts -textbooks or storybooks, AND : ~online games to practice verbs..

Evaluation ~ You will evaluate your work:

You can choose to either a. write up the following or

b. share in front of the class

1. Did your student learn what you taught them? Show us his/her work if you gave them paper work.

2. Why do you think they learned? or why not?

3. Was it fun to be the teacher?

4. Did you learn your verb better?

5. What you would change if you did it again?

Conclusion ~ in class we will talk about the following questions:

Please reflect on the webquest. You thought about fun ways to learn and teach. You designed your lesson. <<need editing>> You taught your lesson. You shared with your teacher or your class about the process. What was fun, or not, about these steps?
