Musicians/Musicos ( more artists on the meeting page!)
I think José-Luis Orozco is one of the earliest musicians and educators to bring authentic Latinx music to schools and children in this country. You might think of him as a Mexican Ella Jenkins... Highly recommended!
My students and I often sing his songs. Sometimes along with him and sometimes by ourselves.
This Boston-based band calls itself pan-latino meaning from many parts of the american spanish speaking world. I first heard of them when Rosi y Brian Amador came to my Vermont neighborhood with an earlier version called Flor de Caña. One of the year's 2016 -17 favorite songs is Los números (Numbers) from their El Doble de Amigos recording.
