2022 Competition Rules

These rules aren't set yet, they may change before Spring quarter starts

Claim your space! The 6' x 12' arena is a maze on a 1' x 1' grid. Your robot has 100 tokens, and claims a space on the grid by placing a token in the 1' x 1' square. You have 3 minutes to claim as many spaces as possible. But watch out, your opponent is also driving around, placing tokens, and pushing yours out of the way!

  • Tokens touching the border of a space don't count

  • The most tokens on a space wins the point, equal numbers of tokens do not gain either robot a point

  • The robot that wins moves on in a double elimination bracket

  • Robots are seeded in the initial bracket by total score of demonstration points throughout the Spring quarter

  • Independent judges keep track of time, score, and application of rules on competition day
