Why was Stalingrad unsuitable to the Wehrmacht ?

The German army, especially the tank formations, were suited for "blietzkrieg" warfare, fast hitting and fast moving formations concentrating armor at the enemies weak points. Stalingrad, a large city, was not suited for blitzkrieg warfare, urban fighting wore down the formations of the 6th Army. With the onset of winter, little or no replacements for those killed and little support for food or winter clothing, the German soldiers suffered immensely. Because of the name of the City, Hitler had a fixation on conquering it at the expense of one of best armies. Thankfully, for Hitlers stubborness, the Allies, via the Soviet Union, was able to win a victory that was a turning point in WW II.
