When you join the the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War, you enter a network of more than 6,000 men who form lifelong bonds, honor their heroic ancestors, and promote historic preservation, education, and patriotism in their communities. There are hereditary members, who trace their lineage to those who served honorably in the Civil War, and associate members, who do not have the requisite ancestry but wish join the fraternity.

Eligibility for membership

Lineal:
All male descendants through either paternal or maternal lineage, not less than 14 years
Junior:
All male descendants through either paternal or maternal lineage, not less than 6 years of age, but no older than 14. Junior members' dues are $10.00 but cannot vote or hold office.
Associate:
No lineage required. Associate memberships are limited but we still have some available!
Dues
Dues are $45.00 per year with a onetime application fee of $10.00. This includes a subscription to the Banner, the news letter of our organization. Thank you for inquiring about our organization.
