"The Halloween Game"

Most parents who are gamers would likely agree with me that one of life's small joys is when your kids want to play games with you, especially if it's a game you want to play. Recently my son and I have had a good time playing Costume Quest, which he refers to as "The Halloween Game."

Halloween is our family's favorite holiday, and Costume Quest is definitely one of the best Halloween-themed game I've played. It perfectly nails the feeling of being a kid trick-or-treating, only it sweetens the deal by adding nifty turn-based RPG battles to it. Though the battles are fairly simple in nature, they never get tiring, especially with my son excitedly calling out the play-by-play of what's happening onscreen.

We still haven't finished the game because we only play for short periods of time here and there, but it always makes me happy when my son asks to play "The Halloween Game." At the pace we're going, we might not finish it until next Halloween rolls around, but that's okay. It's all about the experience of playing, not rushing to the finish line.
