Keeping Things Simple

Wow, creating a website to collect and archive all of our work has proven to be more difficult than I originally thought it would be. Our initial intention was simply to make PDF copies of our zine issues available for download. I figured we could do it in the blink of an eye. That quickly turned into an idea to collect all of our output and house it in one place. Both Missus Raroo and I work in libraries, so the fault likely lies with our need to collect and catalog information. Thus, Club Raroo was born.

We decided a basic, straightforward approach to design worked best and was in line with the style of our work. In many ways, Club Raroo is akin to a library catalog. That is, the ultimate goal is to steer visitors toward retrieving content, and hopefully the design we settled upon is easy for visitors to navigate. We consider Club Raroo to be an ongoing project and will update and make changes as opportunities present themselves. Plus, hopefully we'll be inspired to keep updating this blog on a somewhat regular basis!

It has been fun to revisit our past Game Time With Mister Raroo work, and it has definitely rekindled our interest in creating more. The problem, of course, is that parenthood and other "grown-up" obligations cut into our free time. But, then again, we probably waste a lot of time doing less important things, too. I, for one, waste far too much time, whether it's from goofing around online or just zoning out in front of the TV. Part of the problem is life is simply tiring, but life is also short. In that sense, we should make the most of what precious time we have and do the things we love, which includes Game Time With Mister Raroo!

I hope the content presented on this site brings enjoyment to anyone who stumbles across it. We certainly enjoyed making it.
