Group Images - Robby Gilbert's Work

Robby Gilbert took over from Alton Langford in 2000, and thus started Ranger Rick's adventures in a comic book form, replacing the short story format. This change forced Gilbert to draw multiple images of the characters in a colored storyboard format. Thus, Gilbert morphed the characters into his own style of drawing which fit the medium better than Langford's style. The transition did not happen overnight, as editors of Ranger Rick did not want the style to drastically change immediately, therefore we see Gilbert's efforts in 2000 based on Langford's previous designs for the past seventeen years.

The images on this page are from Robby Gilbert himself, as it is practically impossible for me to scan comic book images, and edit them appropriately to fit the rest of the style of this archive. Updates will be only as frequent as artwork is received from the artist, and what he deems as appropriate for the archive.

Drawings by Robby Gilbert

From 2000, for the "Mailbag" segment. The image in the magazine has word balloons for speech from the characters. This is the original without the word balloons.

Written for part of an adventure story, this picture is aptly titled, "Coral Rick".
