Chronos 1.9.7 version, with some improvements to get more speed (NPS).
I do not know for sure what is the advantage of the version "optimized" over version 1.9.7, I believe that the gain can roam in 15 to 25 ELO.
These games come from the first tournaments and tests of Chronos, "far from his home". Obviously, only in very rare occasions Chronos can defeat or draw against giants like Fruit or Rybka, to name a few, but for me, these games are a reward for all the work done so far!!. I want to thank to Lars Hallerström and Olivier Deville, who have sent me these results taken from their test tournaments and personal rating lists.
This is my first attempt to write a chess engine, based 100% in the glorious TSCP by Tom Kerrigan!! (you are our teacher!). I think the ELO of this engine is no more than 1300 points. It was not a good engine, but it helped me a lot to learn about computer chess. Project ended: 26/04/07
This engine is an improvement from my first prototype. The strength of play is much higher than the previous one but not more than 1600 ELO. Much of the code was improved and many ideas used here can still be used in Chronos. There are a lot of code from TSCP in this version too.
Another interesting thing here is my attempt to implement Evolutionary Tunning for the evaluation function, but the tests were only partially successful. Project ended: 19/07/07
