Settings

(last updated: May 4, 2011)

Introduction

This is where you set clock time and enable or disable one or more of the ten (10) timers. Settings can be found in mainly two places. Under the Tools menu bar:

By right-clicking on the tool bar over a specific timer the options screen automatically opens up. The timer you right clicked on will determine which timer is automatically selected in the options screen. Here we are just right-clicking on timer displaying 41:179:

If you are on a Mac you would use "Control" - right click.

Special Note: If you do not see a status bar at the bottom of your Firefox screen, you need to make it visisble. This is done by selecting the View and making sure the "Status Bar" has a check box after it:

Settings Details

With the settings screen you can change three (3) main areas:

    • Whether or not you would like to see a hover-over message with more details about how many days until you reach you target date.

    • Which timers would you like to enable or disable. This can also be done when you click on a particular timer like 'Timer 3', for example.

By selecting a timer you can set the details for that timer. Here are the types of things you can set.

    • The target date: This is the date that the system will count to. The date format is in 'YYYYMMDD'. For example, 'February 14, 2008' would be entered as '20080214'.

    • How the information is displayed on the status bar. This is relevant to the 'Time Until Options'.

    • What type of timer would you like.

    • Should this timer be enabled or disabled.

Hover over Text

When set, the hover over text may look like this example. To change the hover-over text, use the Setting screen. You simply put text in the hover over text. An example might be "my birthday" or "Christmas at Joe's".

When the hover over text is not set, a generic hover over message will appear. To change the hover-over text, use the Settings menu option.
