Sally's Chili

Sally used a number of dried ingredients (garlic and onions, for example) which I've replaced with fresh ingredients. I've also added some jalapeño peppers.
Ingredients
- 4 lbs lean ground beef (for a vegetarian version, just omit this, or use 400 grams of dry TVP)
- 8 cloves garlic, minced
- 4 white onions, chopped
- 8 jalapeño peppers, chopped and seeds removed (if you want it spicy, leave the seeds in)
- 140 oz canned red kidney beans (or black beans, or a mixture)
- 140 oz canned Italian plum tomatoes
- ½ bottle chili sauce
- 2 T Worcestershire sauce
- ½ cup chili powder
- 3 bay leaves
- ¼ cup crushed cumin seed
- ¼ cup crushed red pepper
To Prepare
- In a large pot, sauté the beef, garlic, and onions until the beef is brown and the onions translucent
- Add all remaining ingredients
- Simmer for 2 hours
