Jimboomba club celebrates twenty years of pleasure driving
The Championships held Sunday 23 August at the Jimboomba club grounds were contested by the thirty-two drivers from the Australian Carriage Driving Society Queensland Branch Inc. The members came from Caboolture, Toowoomba, Gympie, Elimbah, Samford, Prenzlau, Ipswich, Gold Coast, Warwick, Sunshine Coast and our own Jimboomba members.
The thirty-six equines exhibited from the thirty classes ranged from the Miniatures Horse, Ponies, Donkey and Clydesdales,
all being judged by accrediated Australian Carriage Driving Society, Show Judges, Mrs Diane Londrigan and Mr Graham Wass.
Riding for Disabled (RDA), which also includes Disabled carriage drivers, were well represented with five drivers travelling from Gympie, Sunshine and Gold Coast, all thoroughly enjoying themselves throughtout the day.
Almost every competitor went home with either a ribbon and prize money, won something from the raffle or a smile from a day of Show Driving.
Thanks go to Shire Saddlery, Browns Plains, for their generous raffle donations, to the judges and stewards, to the visiting competitors and to Jimboomba club members who contributed towards the happy and successful day that it was celebrating the clubs' twenty years of pleasure driving.
