мне 50 лет. я родился 11 октября 1961 года в семье джорджа и мэри-энн берн, в штате нью-йорк, сша. я – второй из пятерых детей моих родителей.
являюсь гражданином двух стран – сша и ирландии.
в течение последнего десятилетия я работал в украине как иностранный журналист, аккредитованный при министерстве иностранных дел украины. с 2007 года я был аккредитован как корреспондент крупнейшего американского новостного канала fox. в эти же годы я помогал готовить новостные сюжеты и документальные фильмы нескольким ведущим иностранным телевизионным службам: ard, bbc, pbi (подробнее об этом можно прочитать в моем резюме).
в 1994-98 гг. я работал директором белорусского фонда сороса в минске.
в 1992-94 гг. я был представителем крупнейшей в мире фармацевтической компании merck & co. в россии и в азии.
в 1990-91 гг. я жил и работал в киеве.
в 1979-85 гг. я служил в армии сша. затем, в 1988-89 гг., работал сотрудником госдепартамента сша, где являлся сотрудником информационного агентства соединенных штатов.
в 60-е и 70-е годы прошлого века я много путешествовал с моим отцом, американским дипломатом, по республикам бывшего советского союза.
еще в детстве начал изучать русский язык, сейчас владею им в совершенстве. у меня также рабочий уровень знания белорусского и украинского языков.
очень люблю фотографию и длительные пробежки.
