41 years ago, on Aug 23rd, I met my wife on the 1st day of college at the Freshman orientation. Two years later we married. I am the luckiest man alive!

LaPunt -> St Moritz (15 minutes). 3 cable cars (4000' elev gain) to 9963'.

    • Scrambled to summit (10,050), then descended on west face to Suvretta Pass.
    • Descended N. down picturesque Suvretta da Semedan (valley) to jct. with Val Bever.
    • Then down to Spinas (5800') and N. again across the high path back to LaPunt.
    • Mountain bikers descending from Pass at the same time. We took turns passing each other over the next 3 miles.
      • Steep rocky switchbacks and nasty river crossings. They had to carry their bikes.
      • Simple boulder hopping on foot, so had no problem moving right by them.
      • Hit base of valley at Alp Suvretta (6900') at the same time.

Note: at breakfast we observed a 220km bike race (over 900 riders) came screaming by. Very impressive.

14 miles with 5000 foot elev difference. 4 hours moving time, 5 hours total. Avg 3.7mph.
