Fri., Aug 28: fly Geneva to Portland

End of a great 3-week visit to Switzerlnd.

• 7am: Vevee; threw pack in car; grabbed fresh pastries at local baker; filled tank with gas.
• 1 hour drive to Geneva -> returned car.
• 5-min walk to airport. Went through customs, etc.
• Left at noon for D.C.
• 9 hour flight. Great conversation with a wonderful young man, Aziz, from Saudi Arabia.
  • Talked about Arabs, Islam, the Koran, Palestine, Israel, history/conflicts, etc.
  • Time flew, and it was thoroughly enjoyable and memorable for both of us.
• 3 hour layover, then back to Portland by 11:30pm.
• Brother left my jeep at the Sheraton, so within minutes I was on the road to Salem.
• Home by 1pm.

Conclusion: will be returning to many of these regions with my wife. Hikes will be more mellow, but she's in good shape and will really enjoy the life/culture/experiences.
