Aug. 13, Thursday: Blonay and Vevee. Amazing.

Geneva to Blonay and Vevee (on Lk. Geneva)

• Vevee is definitely a place to bring your wife. Spectacular beauty of lake and surrounding mountains.
• Staying in Riveria Lodge (hostel) in center-town Plaza. Sandlot volleyball tournament (taken very serious here).
• Frank lived here for several months and we met his friends Alain and Amy. They live in the hillside village above Vevee called Blonay. Absolute paradise. They are on the 4th floor in an old (but remodeled) building.
  • Main floor with stairs to a loft. All log structure framing. Deck with views of the valley and mountains.
  • They both work in an International school (one in Bern and one in Lusanne). He's a tech geek, so had some great conversations.
  • Frank & Amy took us to a local swimming area (cove). Water and swim felt great.
• Frank met a friend and played tennis at the Nestle's personal court. Vevee is the international headquarters.
• Volleyball tourney and partying until midnight (or later), but the ear plugs muffled 90%.
